:
•Participate in and/or lead Risk Assessments, Hazard Studies and Management of Change activities. Coach others involved with the goal of improving the standard and content of these activities.
•Lead Hazard Studies on major projects and/or more complex projects
•Establish Process Safety performance measures
•Provide 100% daily commitment to achieve the Company’s SAFETY goal of operating in an “accident free” work environment.
•Identifying unsafe conditions or actions and taking action to resolve them in a timely manner.
•Performing regular behavioral safety audits
•Understand all relevant legislation, including OSHA, NFPA, and communicate impact to site and corporate management.
•Champion compliance with engineering principles, regulatory and environmental standards, and Quest and ICI standards. This includes compliance of all contractors, sub contractors and vendors.
•Organize and conduct Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), and monitor follow-up actions.
•Define and promote useable good practice on issues relevant to Quest, such as Basis of Safety determination, Area classification, Manual Handling
•Monitor and publicize any new Process Safety incidents and the learning that comes from them.
•Assist with incident investigations where applicable.
•Assist with projects and process-engineering activities as appropriate that are related to process safety area.
•Participates in the necessary measurement and evaluation of the effectiveness of any assigned loss prevention programs or procedures developed or modifications necessary to achieve optimum results.
•Reviews technological developments and equipment to keep up-to-date on the devices and techniques designed to eliminate or minimize hazards and determines whether these developments and techniques have application in the Company.
•Develops and promotes on-off job safety education material and programs for all Company employees.
•Develops and recommends safety standards, codes, and procedures that become part of the operating instructions of the Company.
Performs miscellaneous related duties as assigned.
Job Skills
:
•BS Safety Engineer or BS Chemical Engineering or any other equivalent degrees
•Experience should include areas such as: accident prevention, traffic control, fire prevention, health physics, hazardous materials, qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, process safety or accident investigation.
•Experience implementing OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP)
•Experience with process safety technology including Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Safety Audits, Consequence Modeling, and Quantitative Risk Analysis
•Good communication and inter personnel skills.
•Self-motivated. Should be able to carry out assignments with minimum supervision.
